Season 1's eight episodes follow Fraser (Jack Dylan Grazer), an enigmatic 14-yearold who's uprooted from his life in New York City when his mother, Sarah Wilson (Big Love's Chloe Sevigny), accepts a commander position of a struggling army unit based in the seaside town of Chioggia, Italy.

Brazen and reactive, Fraser is in the midst of exploring his gender identity and, at first, seems uninterested in adapting to his new surroundings. But when he meets Caitlin (newcomer Jordan Kristine Seamon), another teen on base also grappling with her identity, their budding friendship creates a safe space where they can be their true selves. With beautifully nuanced characters and a dreamy, captivating setting, We Are Who We Are offers a poignant look at the intricacies of uncovering who you really are.
