MIKE & MOLLY is a comedy about a working-class Chicago couple who find love just when they think they're destined to be alone. Officer Mike Biggs is an easygoing cop who found his perfect match in Molly Flynn. A former fourth grade teacher now aspiring writer, Molly is an indomitable spirit who throws herself wholeheartedly into every new project -- especially marriage. Mike and Molly still have the happy glow of newlyweds, but the first few years of bliss have had unexpected obstacles: like living in Molly's childhood home with Joyce, Molly's sassy, sharp-tongued mother; Joyce's husband, the ever-annoying Vince Moranto; and Victoria, Molly's party-girl sister. When Mike isn't sharing close quarters with his new family, he's sharing a squad car with his best friend and partner, Officer Carl McMillan. Carl fancies himself the quintessential tough Chicago cop, but he's really just a pussycat who wears his heart on his sleeve. Mike and Carl wouldn't be complete without their friendship with Samuel, a Senegalese waiter whose dry wit and diner food keeps the cops both fed and in their place. Not to be forgotten, however, is Mike's mom, Peggy -- a cantankerous old coot who would rather her baby boy move back in with her and her scruffy dog, Jim. All six of these crazy, loving and hysterical people need Mike and Molly in the very own special way. It's a wonder our charming couple are able to find their own little piece of happiness. But they always do.
