House of the Dragon: Season 1

Based on George R.R. Martin's "Fire & Blood" and set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the highly anticipated prequel series House of the Dragon tells the epic story of House Targaryen during the reign of King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine). Chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King at the Great Council at Harrenhal, the kind and decent Viserys only wishes to carry forward his grandfather's legacy. But after a series of unforeseen events, Viserys renounces the assumed successor, his younger brother Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), to install his first-born child Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock and Emma D'Arcy), a dragonrider of pure Valyrian blood – and the first woman to be named heir to the Iron Throne.
