Season 1
A cold-blooded hitman has a career epiphany when he's thrust into the intoxicating world of LA theatre in this dark comedy series starring Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live). In Season 1, Barry's handler (Stephen Root) hires him out to the deeply violent Chechen mob in Los Angeles. Barry's target: an aspiring actor whom Barry follows into an acting class taught by beloved teacher/guru Gene Cousineau (Henry Winkler). Instantly drawn to the craft and its students, particularly Sally (Sarah Goldberg), Barry wants to start a new life in this community of eager hopefuls. There's only one problem: his criminal past won't let him walk away.

Season 2
Barry just wants to focus on his acting and his girlfriend...but he can't seem to escape his former life as a hitman. Bill Hader and Henry Winkler reprise their Emmy(R)-winning roles in this dark comedy series about the depressed war vet-turned-hitman (Hader, in the title role) who finds passion and romance in local theater. As Season Two opens, Barry continues to try to rid himself of the ties that bind him to a Chechen mob group, now led by NoHo Hank (Anthony Carrigan). Although he's able to persuade grieving acting coach Gene Cousineau (Winkler) to return to class, Barry is incapable of extricating himself from a violent criminal triangle--and some deeply suspicious LA detectives. Finally, on the Midwest horizon looms Monroe Fuches (Stephen Root), Barry's erstwhile boss, who has found it exceedingly difficult to hire a replacement in Cleveland as capable as his onetime ace assassin.
