Trial By Jury

Crime boss Rusty Pirone (Armand Assante) is about to stand trial, and Daniel Graham (Gabriel Byrne) of the district attorney's office is determined to put him behind bars. But Pirone sends one of his henchmen, burned-out ex-cop Tommy Vesey (William Hurt), to threaten juror Valerie Alston (Joanne Whalley). Unless Valerie cooperates by finding Pirone innocent and deadlocking the jury, Vesey will hurt her young son. Eleven jurors vote guilty, but Valerie desperately persuades others to vote her way, freeing Pirone. But Valerie must still cope with the angry Graham and Pirone's jealous girlfriend. David Cronenberg makes a cameo appearance as a director.
